Australia’s leading residential architecture magazine for designers and their clients – launched its annual awards program in 2010. The magazine’s unique profile positions the awards as one of Australia’s most sought after accolades. The Houses Awards celebrate Australia’s best residential projects – rewarding excellence in eight categories – with the best house awarded the premier award for the Australian House of the Year. 

The Australian House of the Year is selected from the winners of the eight Houses Awards categories and receives a cash prize of $5000. Category winners each receive a cash prize of $1000. The award winners of the program will be announced at a celebratory event in July 2014 and published in the August 2014 issue of Houses.

Categories include Australian House of the Year, Sustainability, Outdoor, Heritage,  New House under 200 square metres, New House over 200 square metres, House Alteration and Addition under 200 square metres, House Alteration and Addition over 200 square metres and Apartment, Unit or Townhouse.
